Volunteer for CODA
CODA volunteer groups include students, retired people, faith-based communities, service clubs, recovering adults, teachers and business people. They help paint CODA residences, plant gardens, make afghans, host barbecues, even organize closets. Some hold events to raise funds or donate items our residents and visiting children need: toys, furniture, towels and linens, clothing and toiletries.
If you would like to talk about how your group can volunteer, please contact CODA’s Human Resources department.
Volunteer Spotlight: Junior League of Portland!
Members of the Junior League of Portland arrived at CODA’s Hillsboro Recovery Center one day last fall, equipped to help revitalize the clinic’s common space, armed with paint, energy and a plan! The volunteers joined with CODA employees to create a new mural to welcome clinic patients and filled new planters with colorful flowers.
CODA patients and staff immediately commented on the great additions to the busy Hillsboro location.
CODA is one of several area agencies that benefits from the tireless work of the Junior League volunteers. These workdays are part of “JLP CAREs day,” which stands for “Community Action and Revitalization Event.” The events combine fundraising for JLP and provide important support for essential agencies like CODA. JLP members, family, friends and supporters raise funds for their organization by sponsoring volunteers as they carry out projects like this one for essential agencies. Thank you, Junior League of Portland!
