New books on the opioid epidemic are popping up on shelves with great regularity now. The latest, and one of the most promising, is “American Overdose: The Opioid Tragedy in Three Acts” by Chris McGreal. He is a reporter for the well-regarded UK newspaper and site, The Guardian, and has won several awards for his reporting of the Rwandan genocide, Israel/Palestine, and on the impact of economic recession in America.
