An energetic team of volunteers of all ages gathered at Congregation Beth Israel’s Mitzvah Day on May 3 to create 28 cuddly blankets and gather needed supplies for CODA patients. (In this use, “Mitzvah” means good work done for the community.)
Volunteers from Beth Israel, located in Northwest Portland, have been supporting CODA for several years in various ways, from blankets to holiday meals.
This year’s Mitzvah Day donations included 11 cases of apples and enough disposable diapers to keep CODA resident moms and babies happy for a long time! Thank you, Congregation Beth Israel!
(The very cool logo for Mitzvah Day is the work of Eric Sellers.)
