Members of the Junior League of Portland came to CODA armed with paint, brushes–and an impressive amount of energy–when they spent Saturday, Oct. 5 at the agency’s Portland Recovery Center.

The volunteers painted a group room and created this striking mural, designed by Chris Muhs. (Last year, the JLP CAREs volunteers refurbished the childcare room and created a mural at CODA’s Gresham Recovery Center.)

CODA was one of several area agencies that benefited from the tireless work of the Junior League volunteers. It was all part of “JLP CAREs day,” which stands for “Community Action and Revitalization Event.”  These events combine fundraising for JLP and provide important support for essential agencies like CODA.  JLP members, family, friends and supporters raise funds for their organization by sponsoring volunteers as they carry out projects like this one for essential agencies.
