Respected Seattle broadcast journalists Enrique Cerna and Penny LeGate and the energy behind a terrific panel discussion about opioid addiction that was filmed at Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry.
Legate lost a young adult daughter to an overdose, and has become a very effective spokesperson about the epidemic taking lives across the country. The panel has some of the region’s sharpest minds on this issue, including Molly Carney, director of Evergreen Treatment Services in Seattle.
A warning — there is some footage (early on in the video) of people injecting drugs.
Some people in recovery or those who have lost loved ones to addiction may be distressed by it.
The explicit footage occurs between 1:05 and 1:15. The video is available on YouTube.
